Good replacement
Whirlpool should send a spare to the customer for the basket. The bottom of the basket had holes within the first 2 years and this was a good replacement for the damaged silverware basket.

Replaced identical dishwasher basket
Looked up the number of the old basket and ordered a new one. Very easy! However, it is a pity that these baskets break down so quickly. The last one only lasted 3 years.

Handy little basket
Like other reviewers said, this turned out to be a bit narrower than I expected. Internal measurements are about 3" deep (top to bottom) X 8" long (end to end) but, as you can see from the photo of it, the end pieces slope inward at the bottom so the length at the bottom is more like 6". The significant (to me) measurement is front to back - less than 2".

I have a dishwasher that's made by Whirlpool. Neither it nor any other diswasher I've ever had requires this odd shape. I can only assume this basket is made to fit the rack of a specific and unusually shaped Whirlpool model rack.

The front and back walls of the basket warped inward slightly after a couple of wash cycles. Odd, since it is intended to be in a hot dishwasher specifically, but its ability to lock shut or hold small items isn't affected so I guess you'd call it just a cosmetic problem.

I sill like the basket, but I do wish it were about 1" wider and 1" taller.

Whirlpool Small Items Basket
This item is excellent for our purposes. It is small and feels flimsy; however, we just use it to wash bottle lids and other small items. I had a more sturdy and slightly larger dishwasher basket previously, but it was plastic-covered wire and soon began to rust. This plastic item is flexible and as we use it, it seems likely to hold up quite well for the was we use it. We are very happy with this item.

Just the right item
Inexpensive, all plastic so it can't rust, fits well along one edge of either dishwasher tray. Amazingly, couldn't find anything comparable at our local homewares suppliers. Amazon wins!

Does Its Job
I recently moved into a new apartment and the silverware basket for the dishwasher was missing so I ordered this one online. The dimensions are 8.5" (length) x 7" (width) and 8" (height, including handle). If this matters to you, the color is not white, but rather a light gray color. Also, while the description for this product says there is a hinged cover for smaller items, mine didn't include it. This isn't a big deal to me and on the whole this basket does exactly what I needed it to do. I have used it for almost three months now with no complaints.

Replacement basket fow new Whirlpool
With our new home we received a Whirlpool Gold dishwasher. The ultra-thin silverware basket was not useful and didn't let silverware dry at all well compared to the baskets in the last two GE dishwashers we had. I talked to Whirlpool about it. Their answer was, essentially, "tough." Great help....not.

I found this old-style square (and cheap) GE basket at Amazon. It works and fits perfectly. Thanks, GE and Amazon. Thanks for nothing, Whirlpool.

It is as photoed not as described
The basket dimensions are accurate, the photo is spot on, the description is completely wrong. There is no hinges or doors or anything. What you see is what you get. It is grey as well not white or off white. We bought this for our kenmore dishwasher and it fit fine. No true complaints other that the false description had really hoped for those features as we are always washing frosting tips and bottle parts and other small pieces... But took the gamble as we needed on asap.

Nice, sturdy, Just what we needed for our old dishwasher (kitchen aid) . Actually seems better designed than the original.

No more utensils falling through holes in the rack
This worked very well. It was a slightly different arrangement in the dividers but absolutely does the job! My dishwasher is an old one but this fits.

Nice little silverware tray
I bought a used kitchenaid d/w and it didn't have the basket. I bought this totally blind (Not sure of the model number for my machine) and it fits well. It's not a perfect fit, mind you, but it works.

Good replacement part for KitchenAid dishwasher
My dishwasher is a 2005 KitchenAid model KUDS01FLSS6. The original silverware basket developed a hole in the bottom allowing silverware to fall through below the bottom of the basket, so I wanted to replace it. However, the original part is no longer available. The Whirlpool W10190415 is a suitable replacement, as it fits exactly. It comes with the fold-down lids for all the compartments, so it is ready to install as-is. Note the original had a convenient, thicker handle and a decorative metal strip along the top length of the basket opposite the handle, which the replacement part does not have.

I really liked the original handle as it is sturdy and easy to grip, so I decided to install it on the new basket. Here's how I did it:

I removed the two-piece plastic handle from the old basket by removing two screws. To install it on the new part, I needed to drill two holes in the new basket where the screw posts fit. It was easy and took just a few minutes to...

This is a great product. It fits perfect in my Sears elite dishwasher and it is very good quality. This is better than the original. Had I known how much better the quality and the bigger quantity it holds I would have bought it right after

Great product!
This product was great for replacing my small silverware basket. This one has three different baskets all with slotted tops so you can put in your silverware without them getting all stuck together, which prevents them from getting clean. It should be universal to any dishwasher so it worked great.

Whew! Was I relieved!
I was so nervous after ordering this because we have a 7 year-old Kitchenaid dishwasher and I wasn't sure if this would fit. Thankfully another reviewer mentioned that the product actually says Kitchenaid on it (it does) and fit in theirs, so I figured I would give it a try. Our original basket had holes in the bottom from knives placed sharp side down for two many years and had become wildly inconvenient to use with various items sliding through making it hard to pull out the lower rack. I was so thrilled when this product arrived (on time, well packaged) and it fit perfectly. And the flip down section to hold knives and other odd items is fantastic. Very Very Happy with this purchase!

Works well on Kitchenaid
We have a Kitchenaid dishwasher. The silverware basket blew out and we got this one to replace it. We were thrilled when it arrived that it was actually a replacement that says Kitchenaid on it, not Whirlpool. Fits great and works just fine!

Design fine, material defective
The actual basket is fine, lifts out easily, etc. My one complaint is that Whirlpool should not have used defective plastic in the first place. The bottom grid melted away, due to heat I'm sure. And not water heat but the actual machine's heat. The silverware fell through the big holes and this began when the machine was only 18 months old. This basket should have been replaced free of charge, in my opinion.
