Fisher Paykel 24 In. Stainless Steel Built-In Double Drawer Dishwasher- DD24DCTX7

Fisher Paykel 24 In. Stainless Steel Built-In Double Drawer Dishwasher- DD24DCTX7
Great Customer Service
I bought this about 6 months ago and have been pleasantly surprised, as I read the review on last years model and saw they had a challenge with customer service. I was curious as to wether or not I could use the tab soap, (you can now)they were polite and helpful. The double drawers are convienient....especially when one drawer is clean and you don't have time to unload prior to throwing more in the other drawer.

Love my new dishwasher!
I was very excited to see that this was in the new home we bought, I have wanted to have the drawers as they seem as if they would be convienient...they are. I love the fact that I can run a small load at any time. My dishes are always clean and dry and I love how quiet it is.

Not up to the task
I have a Fisher & Paykel DD603 two drawer dishwasher.

Pros; It's very quiet when operating.
The top drawer gets used most because no bending.
External cosmetics are good.
Easy to disassemble components to clean.

Cons; Large plates don't fit.
The effect of oversize plates is to prevent to top from sealing during operation which allows water to flood the circuitry in the base.
Bottom drawer is smaller than the top drawer, meaning fewer/smaller articles can be washed.
There are only squirter arms at the bottom of each drawer, so higher items don't get washed.
Light items like Tupperware get thrown around making a noise and leaving them full of dish water.
Filter is manually cleaned. It gets badly clogged and is a mess to clean. Ugh!
Plastic interior walls get a lot of scum buildup with hard water, and look awful.
Small holes in the detergent dispenser sometimes clog.
A lot of "push two buttons and hold for 5...

Kitchenaid KUDS30IXWH Superba Series Dishwasher

Kitchenaid KUDS30IXWH Superba Series Dishwasher

Kitchenaid KUDS30IXWH Superba Series Dishwasher
If this dishwasher were a man, I would marry it!
I have owned this dishwasher for about eight months and I love it. I cannot believe how happy one can be just because they have a machine that makes the dishes sanitized and sparkling! I replaced an old GE Profile dishwasher and what a difference. The Kitchenaid dishwasher holds A LOT of dishes and has adjustable features on the top and bottom racks that allow you to load large, oversized pieces. There are things that I could not fit into my old dishwasher that easily fit in this one. You can even lower or remove the top rack if you need to. When friends come over, I show them the features like it's a new car or something!

I use the sanitize feature with every load I do. It takes two hours and 25 minutes to complete the wash cycle, but who cares. Your dishes will be cleaned to standards set by the health dept that restaurants are supposed follow to kill bacteria. This thing heats up and kills bacteria so well, that if I start it before I leave for work at 9 am, the dishes...

Cleans but design failures are frustrating
I purchased this dishwasher after spending some time researching for a model that cleans well, and is quiet. This Kitchenaid model fit, and although expensive, I felt it would be worth the extra cash for the quality and features it had. The bottom rack is laid out well and the silverware holder has worked ok. We have had to put twisty ties on the silverware holder to keep the plastic tops on it. After owning it for 2 years, I have found it cleans well without the noise. I am very happy with the performance.

The issue I have was the poor design of the upper dish rack, the front panel and door seals. On the upper dish rack, the wheels are held on by some cheap plastic (Premium adjusters with SatinGlide). All four wheels have broken and while Kitchenaid replaced them in the first 3 months, they have failed again while out of warranty. Cost will be about $60 for replacement. About a year after my purchase, the dishwasher started to leak a little bit in the front. The...

Unreliable; poor customer service from KitchenAid
After careful review and study of dishwashers, my husband and I selected this model. The features we liked were the 4 sprayers, the hard food dispenser and stainless steel tub. First machine arrived damaged/defective. Door would not open and close properly. Returned before installation. A week later, the replacement arrived. Installed, and it was working beautifully and acutally cleaning dishes!!! Something we had not experience for the last five years with our prior dishwasher (GE).

Last week, the dishwasher stopped working. Control panel does not seem to be functioning, and the machine will not shut off. Repairman came today, but did not have parts. It will take a week to get parts. I called Kitchenaid and spoke to a supervisor to ask if they had heard of a company called FEDEX!! Unwilling to express parts. Purchased machine less than 60 days ago, so we are ripping it out and returning it.

Now to begin our search for yet another potentially good...

Bosch SHE43R55UC

Bosch SHE43R55UC

Bosch SHE43R55UC
Shhhhh
Bought from a local retailer, but love it enough to share a review:

Our house is designed with the kitchen right out in the open, right in the middle. We like it. What we didn't like is the noise our former dishwasher made, a "quiet series" dishwasher. Or the noise from the one before that, also billed as being very quiet. This Bosch? It really is quiet, except for the barest announcement when the cycle changes. Thanks to the light at the base, you know it's on. But you wouldn't know from listening unless you press your ear against the door.

Even though this dishwasher and our previous models shared the same interior size, this one does hold more on two racks thanks to a better layout of the tines.

Our former machines utilized the age old heating element on the floor of the interior to heat the water. And over time, that heating element became calcified or coated with dishwashing soap or something -- who knows. I know that over time, our machine did a...

Does the Job
Whisper quiet, sparkling dishes, VERY energy efficient---what else could you want?

(As a cynical geezer, I usually equate "energy efficient" with "crappy performance", just as "diet", "low calorie", "low fat" and "organic" are just empty words to convince naive buyers to pay more for lower quality foods. But that doesn't apply in this case. The Bosch is both energy efficient and works very well).

HOW WELL DOES IT WORK?
> Can it clean fine china and crystal without damage? Absolutely.
> Even though I usually load the Bosch to it's maximum capacity, I use the "normal" cycle, without "sanitize" (hotter water), with the normal Powertabs (not the super detergent tablets), and without a rinse agent---the next-to-lightest wash combination available, and my dishes are always perfectly clean and sparkling. But, I don't load the dishwater with filthy dishes. I let dishes with baked-on or dried-on food soak a while in the sink before loading in the...

Great replacement for a builder-quality unit
Thirteen years ago, our new house came with a decent but no-frills dishwasher - AKA - Builder quality. It worked for all those years but eventually, when we decided to go with all stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, we searched hard for a top quality replacement. Using several sources and with the assistance of an outstanding sales rep at our local Sears (Bob in Rockaway, NJ) we settled on this Bosch unit. While it is not the top Bosch model, it has many more features than our original and all we really need.

The two we are loving after a few months of hard use are the stainless steel tub and the whisper quiet operation. Seeing the gleaming stainless "tub" after a wash tells me that the dishes are really clean and sanitized. Also very important - Our old unit was so loud that you had to go into another room to use the phone. How quiet is the Bosch? So quiet that they have to provide a small red light projected on the floor (our cat loves it) to remind you that it's...

DW and customer service stink
Our Kitchenaid dishwasher has been a constant disappointment. We spent about $500 for repairs to things documented as known problems online, and have only kept it because I learned to fix it myself and it hasn't fully died, though it doesn't clean dishes well, and regularly malfunctions by getting clogged with minor debris and the door popping open during cycle.

Warranty is shot, customer service lacking, and products shoddy. Will not buy a Kitchenaid again.

WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS
I'm editing my review because of my near-total dissatisfaction with this item AND with the company itself. As part of a major renovation project, I ordered the dishwasher several weeks before it would be delivered and installed. ACCORDING TO KITCHENAID'S CUSTOMER SERVICE, MY 1-YEAR WARRANTY BEGAN TO TICK DOWN AS SOON AS I PAID FOR THE DISHWASHER, weeks before it was even delivered to my house. That policy caused me to lose about 2 months of warranty service.

When I called to try to track down a solution to the funky smell that emanates from the machine and my dishes after a regular full cycle, I was instructed to clean out the filter. I was told to unscrew the lower arm assembly to remove it before cleaning the filter. This process was possible with my old machine; the new one has a slightly different (and more cheaply constructed) arm assembly. It was difficult to unscrew (it threads backwards but the customer service person was unaware of this). Once removed, there was...

Control Panel Too Sensitive and Doesn't Dry Thoroughly
The control panel is a flat, touch screen type system rather than a "push button" system. The "buttons" are outlined on the panel so you know where to touch it to activate the cycle you want, but they're not actually buttons. It's a flat control panel and it is ultra sensitive. It takes no pressure whatsoever to activate it. If anyone gets near it and inadvertently brushes up against it, one of the "buttons" gets activated. In the middle of a cycle, the "cancel/drain" designated area of the control panel accidentally got touched by someone at the sink beside it and the machine did exactly that. It canceled the current cycle and drained the water and shut off. I had to start it all over, which wasted time, water and energy. It's also super easy to touch the control panel without meaning to if you don't keep your thumb out of the way when you open the door. I've only had it for 4 days and I can't even count how many times the machine has reacted...

Bosch SHE68R55UC 24 Built-In Dishwasher with Super Capacity of 14 Place Settings, AquaStop
Bosch Dishwasher
I recently purchased a Bosch dishwasher (SHE6855UC24) and think it's the best dishwasher I've owned. The dishes come out real clean and dry and the unit is very quiet. I would however rate the company I purchased this from, evVive, a big fat zero for their customer service and also for their terrible return policy. I suggest using a different company when purchasing this unit because the dishwasher is awesome, the company evVive is the worst company I've ever done business with. I won't make that mistake ever again.

Fantastic quality
Short story: If you are OK with no food disposer, this is among the best dishwashers you can buy; it's definitely among the quietest. If you must have a food disposer look at Kitchen Aid, but expect to pay more if you intend to match all the other features of this Bosch.

Long story: I bought this Bosch 800 series (SHE68R55UC) to replace a Kenmore that was only about 8 years old. The Kenmore leaked, and I spent a lot of money replacing sprayer heads and door hinge springs over the years. They just kept wearing out. I did a lot of research and narrowed my choices down to Bosch and Kitchen Aid. Both brands are excellent and have a lot to offer. In the end, Bosch won out for me b/c it is quieter and more stylish, and had more features than the Kitchen Aid had in this price range.

I removed the Kenmore and installed the Bosch myself so have hands-on experience with the build quality - it's built like a tank. VERY solid, and beautifully engineered.

Bought this dishwasher 17 months ago based on reviews here at Amazon and word of mouth. The main circuit board went bad at 15 months. They only have 2 authorized dealers in all of the area. It took over a month to get the part from Bosch. Cost $170 for labor even though it was still under warranty. The warranty covers parts only and only for 2 years. The new circuit board is already acting up. If it goes bad after the warranty is up it will be won't be worth the cost to repair it. Won't be replacing it with another Bosch.

Bosch SHE55R55UC 500 24
Disappointing - condensation and won't dry properly
I have to somewhat agree with one of the negative reviews below.
I just had my new Bosch dishwasher installed and was very excited. However, I was quite disappointed when the first wash was complete.
Things weren't dry properly even though I have used JetDry. Some parts were dry, but some parts felt wet. (and I am not talking about water pooling on concaved bottom of cups or bowls. This is understandable.) Some areas were dry to the touch, but there are lots of spots with condensation here and there - on utensils, side of some bowls, and so on. (They weren't overlapping and weren't even touching each other.) Even the arms of the center sprinkler were dripping because of condensation and the bottom of the silverware rack was wet. As I open the door I could see mild condensation on the surface of the inside of the door as well.
On second load, I used "Extra Dry" mode hoping that it would fix the problem. It looked slightly better, but the condensation still occured and I...

CLEAN & QUIET
I've been thru 3 maytag dishwashers in the last 6 years, I have to say they just aren't what they used to be. This is my first Bosch appliance, I was a little disappointed with how long it took to arrive (2-3 weeks) but I must say it was well worth the wait! Quiet as can be, dishes come out sparking clean. All 3 of my maytags were the "quiet series" and they were pretty quiet but they don't even compare with the Bosch. I love the rack placement, good design, I wish I had a couple more features like quick rinse all in all, you get what you pay for and this one is worth every penny so far, hopefully it lasts.

Smart,Well Built, Quirky, recommend all day long...
1 Week ownership = 5 Stars.

1) Yeah, it's quiet - really quiet, BUT do you really need a red led shining on the floor to remind you it's running? Not a big thing, just sorta funny.
2) Fit and Finish is better, much better than others. If you are an attention to detail kinda person, it won't take you long to see what I'm referring to when compared to other "like products/brands". You can tell it was designed with above average intelligence for sure.
3) Took a bit to wrap my brain around no disposal and the non-traditional drying cycle/element. We always scrape the actual food off anyway and haven't had a single issue with drying cycle IE less than dry dishes. Yes, our hot water is HOT.
4) The stainless front is very nice. They could have spent a little more money on the top (plastic with metallic finish) trim plate. Already has a couple scuffs, very slight. After a year or two of wear and tear I'll buy a new one and just consider it consumable.

Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher, ADB1400PYW, White
Definitely worth considering in the ~$350 range
To help put my review in context, I was very fortunate and received this as part of the Vine program. I have, however, been considering getting a new dishwasher for quite some time and have been looking at washers both online and in the stores. My ~14-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher still cleaned well, but I thought that it was excessively loud and I wanted to get a quieter washer. Overall, I've been happy with this Amana and recommend that you consider it if you're looking in this price range. I've tried to detail out some areas for you below, and I've mentioned some tips at the bottom if you have this installed for you.

* CLEANING ABILITY - 5 Stars
Very good, IMO. Okay, I'm not the ultimate tester for this, as I tend to rinse off my dishes before I put them in the washer based on old habits. I haven't tried any baked-on lasagna :) I certainly don't "clean" dishes before putting them in the washer, though, so hopefully my results will represent what you'd see -...

LOVE THIS DISHWASHER ! BIG PLATES/PLATTERS FINALLY FIT !!!
I have had the pleasure of using this Amana Dishwasher for the past week and I love it! I ordered it because of the Tall Tub feature. I use Fiestaware dinnerware (Made in USA) which is heavy and the chop/buffet platters are large. In the older model d/w this replaced, they would only fit on the very outside edge of the bottom rack. Not very convenient. I could put all of them in this Amana! That alone makes it a keeper for me!

I have tried the different cycle features and the 1 hour works best for me. I timed it (because it runs so quietly I couldn't tell when the cycle was finished!) and it is exactly 1 hr! I called customer service (excellent, fast response) because I did not see an Air Dry feature which is what I prefer to use. If you want to air dry - don't depress either heat option button - that is your air dry. When both lights show black, not green. When the cycle finishes you can just leave the d/w alone (which is what I do) or you can crack the door a little...

Good basic unit
This Amana Tall Tub Dishwasher is an excellent basic unit. It has few settings, but they are more than able to get the job done, no matter how badly or lightly soiled your dishes are. The settings/controls are super user friendly - very straight forward - no need to read the manual to figure it out. Quite honestly, the fewer selections, the better because it is less to malfunction or go faulty.

It is super quiet! The most I hear of it is when the water is running through it. You do not actually hear the motor etc while it is running - just the water.

A tall tub dishwasher will fit the same as a standard dishwasher. It does not mean the dishwasher itself is taller. The inside is just more spacious/taller. You can fit ALOT of dishes/pots and pans in this dishwasher! We are a family of 5 and I am able to fit 2 days worth of dishes in, including pots and pans. I found this out by accident actually - I loaded up the dishwasher one night before bed, but forgot to start...

You know that baked-on pizza sauce probably needs more elbow grease. The dishwasher knows, too, thanks to the soil sensor, and adjusts wash time based on dish soil levels.

  • Control Lockout
Locks the controls so little fingers can't turn on the dishwasher.
