Equal quality to the original part. Size and tension work perfectly. No problems with the installation or with the functioning after installation.
Overpriced Necessity
Unless you enjoy scavenging junkyards, there's not much you can do when you need 40 year old appliance parts but bite the bullet and pay what the market is asking. $14 seems very high to me for a 6" spring that's been sitting around a parts warehouse for almost 1/2 a century - but it was still cheaper than buying a new dishwasher or calling a repairman. The springs I got were NOS (new old stock) in sealed bags from the original equipment manufacturer, they fit correctly, and my dishwasher door now opens and closes as it was intended to do. Our Kitchenaid is built like a tank, and I suspect it will continue to work for another 5 or 10 years.
